And the name is......

Okay, we have had a very hard time with name choosing.  BUT for the past month we have had a name picked out that is now what we actually refer to the baby as.  I don't think that it is going to change now, but you never really know! If something comes up that we like a ton more, then we can always change, but unless that happens Corbin's little brother will have the name.....

Garrett Christopher Waddell.

We think that it goes well with Corbin Benjamin, and it is manly and not too kiddish also.  Garrett is just a name we liked, and Christopher is Clynt's oldest brother's name.  Please, if you do not like the name, don't tell me!  We don't want someone saying something and our minds worrying about it and all that, so we don't want negative comments.

This is a pretty week also, so we are spending time outside.  Last night we got to spend a little time with a good friend also. I always enjoy that! =)

Tomorrow is Jumpin Jungle and Friday, the zoo.  If anyone is interested in heading to the zoo on Friday, let me know!  We love friends joining us!  It's supposed to be yet another beautiful day, and I can use the walking around.

Okay, that was a random blog, but I am tired.  I have been waking up at 6:30 to go my daily bible reading and get ready prior to Corbin getting up, so then I am exhausted by nap time, but Garrett seems to be the most active this time of day, so I don't get much of a nap. But I really do enjoy feeling the little guy moving around. =)

Family Day!

Today, my husband is off of work.  I love when he has a Friday off, and we are home to relax.  It's wonderful.  I got up and made biscuits and gravy and some eggs for all my boys, including the one in my belly.  Corbin and I then took daddy to go check out our favorite park.  We always have fun when Clynt is at the park with us.  It is funny to watch the boys run and chase each other around.

After the park we headed over to get our man's hair cut!  It turned out so cute!  I will post a picture when Corbin gets up from his nap.  Clynt wanted to go run errands prior to the hair cut and I informed him that the salon will fill up if we don't get there when we opened.  So we got their and were the first people, and with in minutes FIVE other kids walked through the door.  Clynt was then very glad that we got there when the doors opened.  Corbin doesn't mind haircuts at all, so it did not take very long to get that done.

After that we went to Kohls because I got a 30% off coupon and had an itching to spend it.  The Kohls in Pearland has pretty much done away with their maternity section.  They had like 10 items to choose from and nothing that I just had to have.  But we did get Corbins some clothes and Clynt got a few pair of pants, so it was a success.

Our last stop of the morning was Jumpin Jungle.  Corbin LOVED it!  It was loads of fun watching him run around and climb into bouncers and jumping like crazy.   We really enjoyed ourselves and had an awesome morning!

Home we then came, and Corbin is napping while I get some stuff done, and Clynt works on his truck..... Tonight is dinner and game night with my sister, Matt and of course my two guys!  I sure do love this this weather and relaxing and fun time with my family.   Tomorrow, we may try taking Corbing to the movie theatre for the first time!  How old were your kids when you first them to the movie theatre?!?

Talk to yall later!

Quiet time

I love the mornings where I wake up before Corbin does and am able to get some stuff done.  I gives me a good feel in the mornings and I really quite enjoy it!  So here is a quick blog with no interruptions.

Corbin is growing like a weed and talking up a storm.  It is so much fun to watch and listen to.  He has pretty good manners too!  If you sneeze, he will tell you "Bless you, mom"!,  when you give him something, he says "Thank you!", is you say "Thank you", he says"welcome!", if he does something he wasn't supposed to, he'll say "sorry, mom", and the list could go on.   I think it is so sweet!

He also has picked up quite an imagination, which is good (because I don't have one at all!), and he will "fly" aroudn the house or he will become a "monster" and scare you, or he will line his teddy bears up and take "pictures" (that's from watching his mom to much!), and so on.  I find it adorable and am very excited about his imagination.

Corbin is also in to his "my do it!" stage.  He wants to help, or do everything on his own!  He wants to "my carry it" for every bag I bring in from the grocery store, "my bring it" for everything I try to carry to another room, "my fix it" for every toy that needs new batteries and so on.  He can tell you exactly what he wants and he just wants to be a "MY BIG BOY!".  I have a love hate relationship with this part of his life right now.  I still want to do things for him and be his mom and love on him all I can, but I am very happy that he is learning his independence also.  This is one of the hardest things yet about mothering, I have to know when to let him be a big boy and when he is being tooooo big of a big boy.  I'm sure he is going to be an excellent big brother!

Talking about the baby, we went for our 23 week visit yesterday and baby GCW is doing wonderful.  He has a strong heartbeat and no problems to note.  I go back in 4 weeks and then I start my every other week appts.  That is when it really feels like the end of the pregnancy.  It is crazy how fast it's all going by.  I can't wait to meet him and to watch he and Corbin interact, talk, fight, hide, play, and laugh together.  Though, I have to say that I am still very sad about Corbin not being the center of my attention any more.  I don't think that he has a clue what is going on, and to me, that's not fair.  I want him to be as prepared as possible, but I don't know that that is really possible.  I mean reality is that until that baby is in my arms and Im losing the sleep and He has control of my body, I'm not really prepared for what is going to happen.  My prayers are with Corbin that he will transition easily into a 4 person family!

Okay, well Im going to go check on my little guy.  I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Gorgeous weather and an awesome family! =)

The past few days have been wonderful!  Outside time makes both Corbin and I in better moods and we have been able to soak up so much Vitamin D (which I have to take pills for because I have a deficiency) so it's wonderful.  The other day we were at Clynt's dad and step-mom's beach house, and I guess my preggo brain figured since it wasn't hot, I couldn't burn.  So I then became the only sunburned person that I know in the middle of winter! lol.

Yesterday we also spent several hours outside.  We have a nice swing set in our backyard, so while I was doing house chores, Corbin was running around and playing in his sandbox and swinging and sliding and "flying" around.  =)  I love watching him!!  Last night when Clynt got home, it was Valentine's dinner time! I went ahead and fixed Corbin something to eat while Clynt cooked, so that He and I could enjoy our dinner and let Corbin play.  So then I helped a little with the cooking of dinner just because Clynt gets stressed out when cooking a lot and wants it all to be perfect.  So I help by boiling the water and making the potatoes and telling him when he should start stuff.  This keeps him calm and me happy! =)   He made a spicy garlic sauce for the lobster and cooked the filet mignon to a perfect medium rare, and some steamed asparagus with a thyme and garlic flavor, mashed potatoes, and a wonderful bread.  It was so perfect!  Here is a picture!

Jealous, huh??  It was sooo yummy and it was great to enjoy the dinner with my Valentine! =)  Afterwards we had chocolate covered strawberries and blackberries that Clynt made also.  He really over does it on his one day to cook a year and I feel so special.  He gets upset that I tell people it is the only day he cooks, so I explained to him yesterday that it doesnt hurt my feelings when he tells people that I don't mow the lawn or take out the trash!  We both have our jobs and I totally don't mind being the one who cooks dinner every night!  I love getting to cook for my boys! I don't mind it at all!   After dinner I sat on the couch and fell asleep. Man was i exhausted from all this sun! =)

Today is another gorgeous day, so Corbin and I got up and went to the park.  A couple weeks ago we discovered the perfect toddler park.  It has only toddler swings, and a huge play area that is square and has bridges and bumps and everything else for Corbin to just run free on.  It also has many slides that are all different but none are too big.  I don't mind Corbin going to big slides either, but I don't like going with out Clynt right now, because I am pregnant and if Corbin needs help, I don't want to have to climb to the very top of something.  So this park is perfect for us and he gets to run around like a crazy man!  Here's a picture!

We can play there for well over an hour and still be having fun.  The sun was getting in Corbin's eyes so he actually asked me "buy me glasses, mom?".  He has a pair but we havent been able to find them, so we went to the store from there and bought him some more!  He has such a big vocabulary now, it cracks me up!  I love it!

Anyways, now were home and it's nap time for both of us!

My Valentines!

I am so blessed to have boys in my life who love me! =)  Clynt made me chocolate covered strawberries and blackberries last night, and then I woke up this morning with flowers and cards from Clynt, Corbin, and somehow the little one in my belly signed one too! =)   Today is the one day a year (okay in Clynt's defense, if I am sick and tell Clynt direct instructions, he will cook) that Clynt cooks for me.  I always get Steak and Lobster, asparagus, mashed potatoes, and bread for dinner on Valentine's Day.  That is my favorite meal, so I wouldn't change it for the world.  I get excited about not having to cook and clean today!  We aren't big Valentine's people so we don't buy gifts or anything, but Clynt is really sweet about getting me flowers for any occasion, so I do get flowers to help brighten my day!

Here are Corbin's Valentine's pictures:

Isn't he the cutest little Valentine I could have??!!

And just for fun, here is a picture of Clynt and I when we first started dating over 5 years ago... We look so young, especially Clynt!  I love you hun, and am so happy for all the time we have had together and the many many more years to come!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  I hope you love and are loved!! =)

Clynt Update!

Not sure how many of you have kept up with us, but last weekend Clynt got really sick and the on Saturday afternoon, he started developing a rash.  It was on his hands and feet and a little on his face that day and Clynt could not stop itching.  Come Monday morning, it was all over his body.  It was a really fine red spotty rash.  I tried to take pictures of his hands, but you can't see it too much because A) I took them with my phone, and B) the spots are so small that it was hard to see them through the pixels on the camera and Clynt's freckly skin =)....

The rash continued to form and Clynt could hardly walk on his feet and he was COVERED in it from head to toe.  So, I scheduled him for a Doctor's appt on Monday afternoon.  He went in, and they ran lots of tests, and the doctor told him that he had the measles and needed to stay away from Corbin, Me, and work for a week.  Yes, Clynt was vaccinated as a child for the disease, but the doctor that sometimes a vaccination does not work.   The risks to the baby in my belly is very high if I were to catch it, so his doctor wanted him to stay elsewhere for a while.  I didn't want to be away from my husband that long thought!  I talked to my doctor and she said that I would have already been exposed anyways, and to just take normal precaustions like washing hands, and so on.  So we slept in seperate beds that night.

The next day (yesterday), Clynt went and saw a dermatologist.  He told Clynt that he had never seen anyone with measles, so he would be hard bent to tell him that that was what he had.  Instead, he said that he thinks it would be more likely that Clynt had some kind of virus or infection that send his body into over reaction mode and caused his skin to inflame.  With the skin inflamed, you could see all the blood spots all over.  So they are testing his kidneys, and we are still waiting on the final results from the blood he gave the first day, but he is being given an anti-inflammatory in hopes that that is what was causing this rash on his body.

The last couple of days have been a complete headache, not just for me and Clynt but for Corbin.  Corbin is attached to his daddy at his hip, and the fact that Clynt couldn't hold him or have anything to do with him was devastating to Corbin.  So, that you guys for all your prayers!  Clynt is back at work today, and we are still being careful for me to not catch anything, but the not having this overwhelming fear of losing our baby and/or Clynt not having any time left to take off when the baby does come and so on, is so much of a relief!

So glad it's Wednesday.  Story time is today, and Elmo on Friday, and then we get a weekend of normal family time this weekend!  Thank you Lord for protecting our family!!

Wishing for a pretty week!

We went and spent a couple of days with Clynt's mom and step-dad this past weekend.  I forgot my darn camera, so I have to wait for them to send me the pictures, but we did actually get to see some snow.  After all the hype and excitement about it in Houston, we were excited about it.   Since it didn't actually happen here in Pearland, Im glad we were there and our little man got to go out and play in it!  It was great, although Corbin did not want to stay inside.  It was WAY too cold to be outside the whole time, so he had to be a little upset for a while.   Here are the couple of pictures that Clynt took.  I didn't go outside because my pregnant self get cold VERY easy, and so I let Clynt be in charge of the camera.  These are the ONLY 3 that we got!  Never again, Clynt, Never again!   Well, you can get the jest on the snow.  Corbin got to play with a couple of his cousins.  He sure does love those girls! =)

This week has started out pretty good.  Looks like the weather will be a little bit better, though it is still windy and a little cold.  We actually went to a story time today, and to the park, and now we are home and Corbin is laying in his room talking (while I keep hoping he'll sleep!).  Not sure what will be in the plans for tomorrow, though a thorough house cleaning is definitely in need!   This Friday is Elmo!  We are going to see Sesame Street Live: Elmo's Healthy Habits!   We are going with a few of our friends, and I think we are going to have a great time!

I can't wait for the weather to get back to normal so that we can spend more time outside.  Last week, this preggo mamma gained FOUR pounds because we were so couped up and all we did was eat.  This week is all about healthy eating walking and getting out a little bit more.

Big boy bed!!

I have beed dreading the move of Corbin into a big boy bed.  Corbin has always been a good sleeper and napper, and I can just put him in his crib awake and he will go to sleep.  Well..... yesterday (after not having power, being sick, and freezing) Corbin decides he DOES know how to crawl out of his crib.  He has blankets that he sleeps with every night, and I had left them at my parent's house (from my attempt of keeping him warm in the cold weather), and he was NOT happy about it.  So, when I put him down, he was not in a good mood by any stretch of the imagination.  I got downstairs and looked in the monitor and heared a thump, mean while I hear the crying gettting closer and closer.  So, I went up stairs and he was stading at the top of the stairs crying! I pick him up, comforted him, rocked him, and put him back in his crib.  By the time I could get downstairs this time, he was already out of his crib.

Now, here comes the part that might make you think I am a mean mom.  A couple weeks ago, I asked his pediatrician what to do about keeping him in his room once he was getting out of his crib.  Remember-  His room is upstairs and ours is down.  I asked if locking him in his room (with the child door locks) would be considered wrong..,.. her response???  Absolutely not!  She said (and I very much agree) that they are much safer in their room than wondering the house at night.  So, in the middle of the nap tantrum yesterday, I pulled out the nifty child gaurds for his door (and closet door) and I put the on.  I then put him back in his crib and left the room.  He cried and banged at the door for a couple of minutes, but then realized that I was not in there and he had free reign of his room.  Then he started reading to himself, and going through drawers.  After about half an hour of that, it was silence.  I went up a little while later and couldn't open the door to peak on him.  Wanna know why???  He was sleeping next to the door!!  So, I get him up when he is supposed to wake up from his nap (even though he hadn't napped much longer than an hour),  and we move on.  Last night, we decided to convert his crib to a toddler bed, and Clynt went and bought a gaurd rail for the side so he wouldn't fall out.  Corbin was jumping on the bed with excitment and didnt want to leave his room.  Here are some pictures of the bed and the front coming off (please ignore the million things that Corbin puts in his bed on a daily basis!)..

So, Im sure your wondering how last night went... Well...  It was amazing!!  NOT ONCE, did Corbin get out of his bed, he stayed in it and slept and he slept later this morning than he has in months! I actually ended up waking him up just because I felt he needed to be checked on!

Now that that step in his "big boy-hood" is over, it is back to potty training.  I think Corbin got scared by the big boy underwear and the asking him every hour.  He has regressed a bit in the last day or two... Im going to just let him go as he pleases for a few more weeks, and then start the other stuff again.  =)

The blessings in life

Clynt and I are blessed with so much in our life, and we really try to realize the blessing in all of the little things in life too.  I like to be excited about every letter or word Corbin learns, about the time that Clynt gets to work (more like the idea that he has a job), each and every friend we have that we get to spend time with, every scripture we read, and so so much more!

Last night, Clynt got to feel our little baby moving for the first time (still no name on the blog, but his initials will likely be GCW).  He has been trying to feel Him move every day for weeks, but every time he tries, the baby quits moving.  Clynt then says "this baby doesn't like me", lol... Poor guy.  Last night though, Clynt sat and talked to him for a little while with his hand on my stomach.  After a couple minutes the baby started kicking his hand several times.  Clynt was so excited.  I just love that he got to feel what I get to feel all the time!  This, to me, is the best part of pregnancy.  Im not sick too much (other than this morning!), but I know the baby is doing okay, because I can feel him moving around.  I love that.  In a couple of months the movements won't be very comfortable but man, it is still such a blessing.

This weather is a blessing also.  Though, Corbin and I would much rather be outside playing, this rain is very good for us, and the cold is good too.  It keeps our electric bill down, and it makes us appreciate the heat that we have in a couple of months.  I love it.

I am blessed to be able to stay at home with my son.  Although we don't have as much money as we once did, I still would trade it for the world.  Money is not everything in life.  Money won't give you memories with your kids or grandkids, and it won't make someone love you any more.  Many people must work, and I totally appreciate that, Im just talking about spending time out side of your necessary work week with your kids.  I am blessed that Clynt is home after work to spend time with us, and Corbin NEEDS that time.  He misses his dad so much during the day.  One of my favorite moments of the day is when Clynt walks in the door.  I just love how excited both Corbin and Clynt are.  It is soooo sweet!

Anyways, their are so many blessings in life, and I thank God for them as often as I can... I thank God for everyone of you reading this!
