I stink at blogs

Okay, I really stink at blogging! I tell Clynt all the time "That would make a GREAT blog", but then I never do it! AHH!! Well, the most recent thing that i said that about was our vacation.

It was quite an eventful vacation and I think it will be an interesting blog. I will start from the beginning, and let you know all the things that went WRONG on our vacation. Sounds more like a saga than anything =)

To start, we get to the airport. We checked in and paid our $15 for baggage the night before, but we still had to go leave it with the check-in counter for AirTran. Our bag was barely under weight which was great (I have been known to pack bags that were over weight). BUT then she pulls out her tape measure!!! Who does that! Evidently your bag can't be over a certain size by measure the length and height and width of it! Well, it was over sized by a few inches, so she says that we have to pay an additional $45 for it. YES, total of $64 to check the bag! Grr... So she charges us $64 for the bag. BUT- remember I told you that we had already paid $15? So I correct her and she sends us to ANOTHER line for a refund!! GRR. Then we go wait in line for security only to get to the front of the line and them tell us that our boarding pass didnt say IFNT on it, so Corbin couldnt get through! So we have to go BACK to the check-in line and tell them that they screwed up yet again and need to correct it. (to back up a second- when I booked our flights over the phone, they booked it for a WEEK after I had asked and the only way that I figured that out was bc I called them a few days later and changed our times, so yes... not happy with Air Tran). They fix it and we get through the line and grab something to eat in the terminal. Then we go board our plane. Then we have to DE-BOARD our plane! There was a storm in Atlanta so they wouldnt let us land there. So we wait an hour and board the plane again. On the plane they let us use their internet to check the status of the connecting flight and we noticed that our flight was leaving before we were landing! We get off the plane and their is a lady their and we tell her we are going to New York and she tell us to go to C12, to which I replied "you mean, their is another flight going out?", she says "yep!". I felt relieved, so we rush to a different terminal (ATL airport is HUGE so this means a tram ride and everything) only to get to the gate and them tell us that our flight had left a long time ago. So then we have to wait in line for the CS rep to tell us that they had no more flights leaving out that night! grr... So we are stuck in Atlanta and it is already 11pm. She tells us we can go get our baggage and go to a hotel (which we had to pay for at a discounted rate) and be back at the airport by 5 for the the morning flight. We go to get our baggage and they tell us it will be 1-3 hours before we could get it!! Not to mention being incredibly rude about it, ugh. So then we decide to just leave and we will have to do with out our clothes and everything until we get to NYC. We get to the hotel, and I run in to check in and Clynt is getting the baggage out of the shuttle, I gave her our confirmation number but Clynt had my ID, so the lady is MEAN and tells me I have to wait at the end of the line (by this time EVERYONE on the shuttle was in line so we had to wait another 20 minutes to check-in). Well then it was night night time from our miserable day!

We then wake up the next morning, and incur another several horrible customer service issues but we move on and get to the airport for our flight. Which leaves only 20 minutes late or so. So we go get our rental car company (whom wouldnt refund our money from the previous day!) and we get our car. Clynt had printed out maps and "knew" where he was going to get to our hotel in Connecticut. Which meant that he would not pay any attention to the GPS that we had. So we go the WRONG way! Finally he listened to the GPS telling him to turn around, however our drive to the hotel took 2.5 hours when it should only be a 1-1.5 hour drive. Anyways, we get there and clean up and head over to my aunt's house and let Corbin nap for a couple hours before the graduation. The graduation turned out being incredibly long and with Corbin being so tired, he was not happy to be there. But it all went well and spending time with my family was awesome and much needed.

We get back to the hotel and the next day was the graduation party, so we had lots of fun there and then my cousin had a after party, and that was loads of fun too. Check out my FB page for pictures! The next morning we got up and went for breakfast with the family at my Aunt's house. Then we were off to the city, which was bitter sweet. I was really excited to go to the city, but it is always so sad to leave my family because it will be a while before we see them again, it is the MAJOR downside to have family so far apart.

We get to the city and go straight to the ferry for the statue of liberty. It was really cool and all but we really didnt expect the lines. We go back to our car and we went over to Carlos' Bakery which was CLOSED! AHHHH!!!!! The hours said open and everything, but they were not open! I was really sad! So we went back to the hotel. On the way around the city though we did see several things like Ground Zero, Madisson Square and just lots of things. We checked into our hotel and it was REALLY nice! So that was a pro to the vacation. We then go walking around and walk around some of the shops and markets, but the markets all were closing as we went walking around. {{Tears}} Then we are trying to find something Japanese to eat. Most of the places we stopped at didnt have any seating because it was Father's Day and they were packed so we ended up stopping at a steakhouse. It was good, but they didnt have milk or ANY kids cups so clynt walked to get some milk at the deli across the street to put in Corbin's cup. The waitress came and asked us to remove the milk from our table. GRRR!!! Come to find out, we were at a Jewish restaurant and our milk was NOT KOSHER!! They could have just said that! So we leave after eating and walk around some more. St. Patrick's Cathedral, which we REALLY wanted to see, was also closed. Boo!! So we walked around a bit more and went back to the hotel only to find that our crib was not their yet. After 2 more calls and another 1.5 hours, we had our crib and were able to put Corbin to bed. The next morning we left, and everything on that trip went WONDERFUL, expect when we arrived in Houston. Before even getting off the plane, I had a call from my sister (who was dogsitting for us) and one of our dogs was missing. She was our first dog together and we were both upset but I was just crying, I had had enough and I was breaking down.

So we spent out "chill day" searching for our dog and didnt find her. The next day I spent going to shelters and putting up signs with my sister. Some one finally did call and had found her. Whew.

So I am tired of typing now! All is getting much better in the house of the Waddells! Talk to you soon!!

Hand Therapy

You know, when I became a stay at home mom, I really thought it would be somewhat easy. But their are definitely obstacles that are faced. Currently my biggest challenge is the fact that I still have to leave Corbin several times a week for therapy on my hand/wrist. It is not near as easy to leave him as you would think. I have to make sure that someone is available to watch him and I have to get him all ready just for hour ordeal. When you are working, you just go about your thing and leave to go to what you need to do, but when you stay at home that is not near as easy. Now, I am not at all complaining because I really do LOVE what I do now. I love getting to watch my child grow up and being able to see him more than anyone else, because realistically when I was working, Corbin's sitter would see him more of his waking hours that and one else would. This whole wrist thing is just an obstacle, but it is really coming along and I have total trust in the Lord that it will get better and my life will slow down and get back to normal.

Anyways, that was just what I was thinking about today =)

Went to see Daddy for lunch!

Today Corbin and I decided to get up and go see the pops at work and take him to lunch. He loves when we take the time to go downtown to see him and take him somewhere to eat. Today we went to Kim Son which is where we usually go when we go downtown to eat. Daddy LOVES it and so do I. Corbin doesnt like to eat much of anything so it doesnt really matter where we go. =)

I have our whole trip to Connecticut planned out now! =) We are flying into NYC and then spending several days in Connecticut. Then we will head back to NYC for a night there. Should be fun! While we are there we will be taking pictures in Central Park for Corbin's 18 month pictures. It will be perfect timing. I am really excited to get to see all of my family and for everyone to get to see Corbin. Some of them have met my incredibly handsome little man, but it was when he was only 6 months old, so this should be loads of fun!! We are going there for my cousin's HS graduation, and we are so proud of her! Love you Kels!

Anyways, I need to nap. My sleeping has been horrible with the whole arm fiasco! I am exhausted come 2 in the afternoon. I am glad it is Friday, and Clynt will be home soon=)

Life is good!!!

My precious little man

So has our hectic life life continues these days, there are so many wonderful things happening. Life is incredible and God is SOOO good! I just love how prayers are answered in ways that you would never think, yet that are so so effective. And it is also so amazing how children grow so quickly and learn so much in such small periods of time.

I sat down today and counted the number of words that Corbin can say and stopped at 26. I am sure that their are more but that is what I could think of in a matter of 2 minutes. It is amazing to me that several months ago, all he could say was mom, dad, and ball! I know around this age is when he is even more a sponge and more and more words are going to start coming out. I LOVE it. I cant wait to be able to carry a conversation with him and actually be able to understand everything that he is saying. I am so exited for everything that comes next. He is such a wonderful blessing in our life. =) He LOVES cars, and he loves balls, and he LOVES swimming. He is such a little boy, and I LOVE that. He couldnt get any cuter:) Oh, and did I mention that he LOVES blondes! O-M-G, he is going to be a little heart breaker one of these days.

Well, I promised a post on Corbin, and I will post some pictures later.

Much love!

What is a blog??

Dang, I am out of it lately. For those of you who have not kept up, I broke my wrist playing softball about a month ago. 3 weeks ago, i had to have surgery on it and it included 10-12 screws and a plate inside my wrist. I am still doing hand therapy, and am still not capable of holing Corbin with 2 hands. But things are gradually getting sooo much better. At first, I was unable to even change a diaper or shower myself. I gradually graduated to being able to change disposable diapers and as of yesterday, I am changing cloth diapers again. My movement, according to the hand therapist, is very good for only being a few weeks out, and my strength is gradually coming back. The reality is that full range of motion will take about 2 years to get back, but hopefully within the next month, I will be able to at least do everything I was able to do before. I am hardly sleeping at all because my arm gets uncomfortable and/or I hit it and it hurts! So the therapist has been trying all different techniques. I have been wearing a splint/brace at night, then she had me wearing a glove thing underneath that for swelling and in turn pain. That worked for about 1 night and then it now doesnt work. I just got a new brace that isnt doesnt have splints in it and she is hoping that that will help me. We will see, I am sick of no sleep!

Ok, Im sick of talking about my arms. Let's talk babies! I LOVE babies and have had 3 good friends have babies in the last month! I am loving getting to see them! In fact, I think we are going to see one of them tonight =) and we saw 1 yesterday! And I think 1 of them on Wednesday! I LOVE IT! I am getting the baby bug bad and I think Clynt is too. We were thinking that we would try soon, but with the whole operation on my arm and all and the expense of all that, we are waiting to see what we will do. Ill keep yall posted though! Corbin is now 17 months old, and we want several kiddos and want them between 2-3 years apart, and now that I am staying home with them, it would be a good time to start trying, so we will see how the next few months unfold =)

This weekend was soo much fun! Clynt had a 4 day weekend and Corbin and I were sooo excited! To start we left Thursday night to go see Clynt's mom and Steve and then we came back Friday night. While there we went into college station and just mainly spent good time with Steve's family from Ireland and Clynt's Mom and Steve. Good stuff. Then we got up on Saturday and went to see Clynt's dad in Surfside. That, too, was fun. Clynt and I went and walked along the beach while Corbin napped, and we were able to spend some time with Clynt's Dad, Charlye, and some of their friends. Good stuff. Then on Sunday I worked at the church and then Clynt and I had lunch at my dad's house and Corbin swam a little. Corbin LOVES the water! Then we came home and cooked for our friends Corey and Ashley. We are loving getting to know them and really enjoyed their company that night. Monday we got up and went to lunch at my dad's again, and then came home and rested! Then, we went swimming with Corey and Ashley in their new subdivision pool, which was AWESOME for Corbin because it had a HUGE kiddie area! LOVE IT! Then we went and saw our friend's Holly and Kris's little one that was born on Saturday. We had been trying to get over to see them all weekend and things kept coming up so we are glad that we were able to get over their to see them :) I wish that the weekend would have been a little bit longer so that we could have made it out to Rosenberg to see a bunch of our much missed friends, but hopefully Wednesday we will get to see them all!

So now that I have caught you all up on our life, I will try am blog tomorrow about Corbin and his love for blondes =)
