Sundays

Sundays are a day of the week that mentally, physically, and emotionally prepare us for our upcoming week.

It's a day that we bring the boys down when they wake up and put them in our bed to watch a morning show with us. (See the picture below)

It's the day we go to Church and are fed with the words of Christ that we need.

It's the day where we go to the park, lunch, and or do anything as a family we can so that we are bonded and know eachother's week.

It's a day where I clean house and work on laundry so that our week is a little more simple.

It's a day where when the weather is nice I actually get to run during the day at nap time.

It's the day we have small group and get to spend time being real with friends and learning more about God's word.

It's a day where after the boys are in bed, Clynt and I get to watch a couple shows and visit for a while.

It's always a busy day, but, man oh man, am I going to miss these Sundays when my boys are grown and out of the house.

Sundays are so special to me. I love my family, I love God, and I love this life that has been given to me. :). Feeling blessed on this gorgeous day! Hope your Sunday is going great also!

First game

Yesterday was Corbin's first doing ball game. He plays for the giants and is so incredibly cute in his uniform! :)

He played outfield, third base and catcher and did a good job. And he only got to bat once, but it was an excellent hit! Then he basically walked to first base and got out! Lol. The humor in instructional tball is a awesome. All the kids do hilarious thing. I love watching the little guys play!

Here is a pic of my little ball player (sorry he is still in his sneakers, I forgot to change them before taking his picture.) and I have more pictures but they are on my actually camera, not my phone :)

Oh, the sweetness of my 4 year old!

Tonight I was talking to Corbin about how Jesus loves him. And little did I know it would take him into a couple stories about Jesus. My heart melts when I realize that Corbin knows Jesus and how much Jesus loves him.

So I asked him 'what all did you learn in church this weekend' (trying to keep his sweet little brain remembering!). He starts on the story of the deaf man in the bible. He says "mommy, Jesus can HEAL!!". "There was a man who couldn't hear and his friends brought him to Jesus and Jesus just touched him and now he is all better and can hear". (And he started combining in the story of the paralyzed man). "And mommy, the friends brought a sick man through a ROOF and Jesus healed him! Jesus can heal everything!"

Of course I agreed with him and started talking to him about how Jesus loves us and asked if he loved Jesus. "Yes mom, I love him! BUT MOM!" (And of course I ask what..) "There are some guys who don't like Jesus, and they are mean, and it made the whole world sad. And that's why Jesus was born a baby again!" Took me a second to figure out what he was talking about. Do you get it? It's so sweet how innocent he is. He doesn't realize the crucificition but he knows that people were mean to Jesus and Jesus was born again. And in his thinking that means he was a baby again. How precious and innocent. He is learning what Easter is but in just a precious 4 year old way.

Hats off to the staff and volunteers at our church in the youth area. The basics you give our kids gives so many wonderful conversations to be had. Melts my heart that he memorizes scripture and is learning so many important stories.

Updates

Seems like forever since I've posted on here! Life has been very busy and my blog gets away from me. :(. So I'll just do a quick update on the four of us!

Garrett- Garrett is growing like a weed and is one of the sweetest, most loving toddlers ever. He would be a trees best friend if he had the time. He dances, laughs, smiles and talks allll the time! He is learning tons of new words every day, and is just so much fun to spend time with. He loves boots, hats, and the outdoors. He, like Corbin, could spend the entire day outside. Do you believe I am already planning his second bday?? He is 21 months already! I just don't get where time goes. I'll post pictures at the bottom since I'm on the blogger app and am unable to put them in order! :(

Corbin- Corbin is in prek 3 still and is smart as a whip. I am completely unable to comprehend how he comes up with some of the stuff he knows. He is much more reserved around people than Garrett is but is most definitely still a ball of energy. He does very good in school and loves going. He is starting to memorize scripture and praying on his own. It makes this mom proud! He is playing tball for the PLL and loves baseball. He really wants to play football too but has to wait another year for that one. He is just a super fun, athletic, wild boy!

Clynt- he is definitely making a great name for himself at his company. He is constantly getting rewarded for good work and he is now on several committees that are very noteworthy. He is very highly respected by even the highest of managers. I couldn't be more proud of my husband. Seriously.

Me!- well, I'm 55 days in on a life change of health. I'm running my second 5k this weekend. I work out daily, and I'm eating much healthier than I have have in my life. I'm down 16 pounds from my highest weight of this year. And I feel really good! My boys still take up all my time but I'm managing to find a few minutes during naps and bed time to get some work ours done at home.

This ear our family has lots of vacations planned and lots of little things going on. 2013 is starting out well and should shape out to be one of the best years yet! God is so amazing!

The picture on the bottom with spiderman is the highest weight this year and the. The one with my guys is me this week. Not sure if you can see the difference but I can. :)

I did it!

This past weekend I decided to schedule a race for about 3 weeks earlier than my training schedule thought I should. So this past week, I nixed my training and just went for it and pushed through a 3.1 mile run. I was so excited! So off to the run in Navasota I went this past Saturday.

I woke up, nervous as hell only to find out it was only 34 degrees outside and it was windy with a windchill of 29. What??? I've never run in COLD weather before so I was even more nervous. But off Clynt and I went to sign in for the race. I get there and realize, gulp, there are hills!! Another small factor I was not prepared for! But I was there and did it any ways. I did have to walk 2-3 times because the hills were making my thighs burn, but I would only stop for 5-10 seconds and I would be running again. I finished the race in 30.5 minutes. I was in tears when I ran through the finish line! I did it!! I could not believe it was over and I had finished in my goal of under 10 minute miles, even with all of the unknowns I had faced that day!

So what now? Clynt thinks I should start training for a 10k, but I'm going to run 3.1 for a few weeks and then start a 10k training program. I want to be sure that I can get to where the 3.1 is easy before I go training for something even harder. I really have a goal of a marathon one day but it will likely wait a few years till both my guys are in school and I can have a lot more time to train. Though I hope that by the end of next year I'll be able to run a half marathon. I really am just giving myself a long time to be ready for goals. And if they never happen, oh well. I'm having fun running and staying healthy. :)

Here is a picture of me after I ran my first race!
