Im a slacker

So much stuff going on these days and I have yet to sit down a blog.  For starters my baby boy is full blown potty training.  He goes to the "big boy toilet" at least 3 or 4 times a day.  He likes to be like daddy and stand, so we often have lots of cleaning to do around the toilet, but we are getting there.  We went and bought Elmo and Toy Story underwear today and so when Corbin gets up from his nap, we are going to switch over to them!  I am nervous, but know that if Corbin is really ready, it won't be too hard of a deal! We'll see!  He is talking up a storm and is such a sweet little boy.  I pray that our newest little boy will be as sweet and well behaved as Corbin.  He is TWO, so we do have the occasional tantrum, but over  all he is a very well behaved little boy.  I really enjoy being his momma and getting to be with him all the time.  One day that little guy will be out of our home, so the more time I spend with him now, the better.  We may get someone to watch him once a month for us to go to a movie, but we don't leave him over night almost ever, and we really don't see the need.  =)

The little guy in my belly is starting to grow and move a lot  I am feeling him daily now, though Clynt has yet to feel him yet.  I will tell Clynt he's moving and when he tries to feel it, the baby stops moving.  I think we are closer to having a name for a little guy.  We are pretty set on a middle name after a very special person in Clynt's life growing up and our life now.  And the first name keeps changing, but I think we have one, we're just not telling the world (or at least asking opinions), because I always change my mind after the first negative comment!  So we will see!  Im sure I will share in the next week if we set it in stone! =)  We are about 21 weeks now, so that means we are past the halfway mark.  Crazy how fast it's going.  I can't wait to hold the little guy in my arms though.

Okay, hopefully this will get me back in the blogging mode! Lots more to talk about!

Entertaining a 2 Year old....

Entertaining a 2 years is much more work that entertaining a baby.   Everything must be more educational, more detailed, more involved, and shorter to keep their attention span.  I am always looking for new ideas for keeping my little guy entertained.  We color everyday and play with tools everyday because those are the 2 favorite things of his right at the moment.  We read daily also, and he really enjoys that.   He has a Tag Jr. that he loves because he can press and read the books on his own.  He really likes that.  It is really a cool invention for toddlers.  Other than home activities, we are very active outside the home.  We go on play dates a couple times of week, which Corbin really loves.  We go to Story Time in at least once a week also, which Corbin is finally really into.  Other than these things, we are always looking for way to have fun.  In a few weeks, we are going with some of Corbin's friends to Sesame Street Live!  Corbin is really excited to see ELMO!  We are really excited about, however I am amazing at the cost to do kid things!  We wanted decent seats in order for the kids to see well enough to enjoy it, so for seats in the front (not even on the ground level), we spend $70!!  Now, I am not a cheap person, and so don't mind spending that for Corbin, however, I was just blown away!  I mean it's ELMO, not Bon Jovi!  Needless to say, Im sure we will have fun!

So, what other activities do you do to entertain your toddlers??!  I want to put him in tumbling, but just haven't yet and picking a day to fit in our schedules is hard.  I want to start sports and stuff but he must be at least 3 or 4 to join any sports.  So, any ideas are totally welcome!!  Corbin is very much a little boy, he loves balls, tools, instruments, jumping off stuff, running around crazy, and just having fun!

Thanks for the help!

My Job

My job is a housewife and mommy.  So often people thing that that means that I have it easy, including Clynt.  Trust me when I say that I know how blessed I am to be able to just go and do what needs to be done.  I was a full time working momma for over a year, and all the same stuff at the house still has to be done, even though you are working 40+ hours a week.   That was so incredibly hard for me, so I give major kuddos for all you working mommas out their!

However, so often I don't feel appreciated or understood.  I do take care of my little guy all day long, every single day of the week.  He is a very good toddler, has a huge vocabulary, always happy, and really helps me around the house.  I spend a lot of time working with him on everything.  When the baby comes, I will do the same with the baby.  I am a major schedule nut, and once we get a routine, we will have schedules and Corbin will continue to get my attention and will get worked with one on one also during nap times.  The baby will get my attention too.  All of this is so important to me, but it takes a lot of work, planning, energy, and love to make it all happen.  Clynt sees all the perks to my job, but not so much every thing else......until,.......

TODAY.... Clynt actually stopped me when we were getting off the phone and said "wait.." and I said "yea", he responded "Thank you!", and asked for what.  He goes on to say "for taking care of Corbin, for taking him to the library today, for planning our vacation, for sending me cute pictures during the day, and just for being a great mommy".  You have NO idea how much that means to me.   It has been 8 months that I have been a stay at home mom, and I don't think he has ever said that to me.  I don't know what happened, or what made it click, because we werent talking about that at all, but it means so much!  i am just on cloud nine because of that comment that I had to share.   Today will be a good day, thanks to one sweet comment from the man of my dreams! =)

Our 3rd Wedding Anniversary...

So, as you know, last week was our anniversary.  Clynt planned a night out all on his own and I was sooo excited!  His dad and step-mom watched Corbin for the night and we went downtown.  To start, we went to The Foundation Room.  This restaurant is a hidden secret.  If you weren't looking for it, you wouldn't know it was there.  You have to walk into a door on a street downtown, and then you have to let the guy know that you have reservations, and he opens the elevator for you.  You go up and VIOLA, you are in an incredibly gorgeous restaurant.  We got their at about 5:30 and our reservations were not until 6, so we sat in the lounge area and Clynt had a cocktail, and I had a shirley temple.  While waiting we walked around the place and LOVED looked at all the neat decor.

Clynt would have killed me if I would have brought my nice camera, so the pictures that I have are all from my phone.  Plus- the lighting in the place was soooo dim and the walls and floors so dark, that I couldn't get very many pictures to turn out on my phone.  Here is the best I could get of the walls.  The walls of the place were covered in this grogeous fabric and the floors were covered in Persian rugs.  It was amazing.

Then, it was time to sit and eat.  he is a picture of how the room was set up and how it was so exclusive.

Clynt was uber embarressed of me taking pictures.  haha.  He doesn't understand bloggers. =)  For appetizers we had lobster tacos and a chicken dish, both were mouth watering!  It was delicious. Then for our entree, I had the New York Strip:
And Clynt had Mahi:

It was all delicious.  We visiting for a bit and then we walked to our next destination.... The House of Blues.

I had never been to the House of Blues, so I was excited.  The place was really neat! We went and sat in our seats (which were fabulous) and we waited for the show to start.  This is the funniest part of the whole night.  The show was.......... tribute bands for.............. KISS and AC/DC!  HA!  Can you believe it?!?

The whole Gene Simmons tongue thing was a bit much for me!  lol. The whole experience was crazy!  I am not a rock band person, but I could have laughed all night long.  I mean reality is that these were several old men dressed up in painted faces, crazy clothes, platform shoes, and instruments and one sticking his tongue out and shaking it, and the other ones dancing crazy... They could be someone's dad, ya know?!  Haha.... It was just hilarious!

The unfortunate part was that, remember the whole me being pregnant thing, I spent the whole time trying to gaurd the baby of the loud music.  Not to mention the part of me looking rediculous and pregnant at a stinking KISS concert. haha....

So we had to leave about half way through because the noise was just not suitable for a pregnant person.  However, I will NEVER forget this experience, and I hope that Clynt will take me back again (post-baby!)...

Okay, well I hope you enjoys hearing about our anniversary! I love you babe!
