We are.......

Pregnant!!  YAH!  Im sure that most of you reading this blog already saw the news on Facebook, but I can't help but right a quick blog about the whole thing here.

For starters, we have been wanting to have another one for a few months now, so this was not a surprise and we were super excited!  For those of you who no me, I have NO patience.  So I took a test during the day (because my BBT curve was looking like a pregnancy curve), and it was positive.  Just like when I found out with Corbin, I called Clynt at work and spilt the news.  I wish that I had one of those really cool stories about how he came home and I had a special meal or something, but it was not that nice.  Clynt was very excited though.  We found out when I was only one week pregnant and were excited but very nervous.  If you remember 4 weeks ago, I had to have a colonoscopy and during that procedure, I was put under anesthesia.  That means when I was 3 weeks pregnant (which is really only one week pregnant for those of you who don't know) when I was put under.  This can be very bad for growing fetus, so we are just taking precautions to make sure everything is okay.  But my doctor seems to think that in most cases the pregnancy would have ended at that point if something was going to be wrong.  Everything to this point (we are 7 weeks 1 day) seems perfect.

Here is a picture of the little one yesterday and his heartbeat was 125bpm.  So, he/she is very healthy!  There were other pictures that were much better but my doctor kept them =(.  So this one, you can't really make out much.  The baby is at the top of the left black circle.  It is the little white blob up there.

She also asked us about doing some genetic testing at 12 weeks.  Not that she is too concerned about anything, but just a pprecautionary thing.  I know a lot of people who opt out o these tests and trust me, we go back and forth on it all, but we are okay with it.  For starters because of the anesthia thing, and also because if something is wrong, we want to know.  Not that we would do anything about it, but just so that I can spend the next several months learning how best to raise a child with specific problems.  If the baby has a disease where certain colors bother it, then I want to know how to paint the room.  Or if certain things make a big difference in helping to raise a child with say Down Syndrome, I would just want to know from day one.  So that is the decision that we made, so we will be doing it.

My point to telling you all that is not to get in a debate about right or wrong on the genetics testings, but to say that now when you do a genetics test, they can do a blood test to check the sex of the baby at 12 weeks.  Is that not crazy?!?!  So, we will know by the time I am 13 weeks what we are having.  That is less than 6 weeks away.  I am super excited!  This time when we find out what we will be having, we will have other decisions to make.  Like, if we leave Corbin in his room, or if we re-do his room for a girl and let him have a different room, or if we need to start buying a new wardrobe, or if Corbin's will do. Those seem minimal , but i so excited to find out.

Okay, well that's my blog for now...

Dewberry Farms

We went to Dewberry Farms last weekend with some friends.  It was a really neat place, but it was crowded and HOT!  Other than that though, we had fun, and Corbin loves being outside so he had a blast too.  If you don't know what Dewberry Farms is, it is like an Fall Amusement Park.  Their is so much for the kids to do, and ride, and eat.  It really was a cool experience. Here are some picture!

This first one is a slide thing that they had.  Clynt said that they use slides like that for feed all the time in the country.  It is was really cool how these people could turn all of these "normal country" things into really exciting stuff for the kids!

The next few are in the corn maze, which was really neat!!  Corbin got to run around and we all just got to walk! =)

The next 2 are of the jumping bags that they had.  They were like giant plastic things with air underneath and they bounced really cool.  Corbin LOVED them, and so did Clynt (and Holly and Kendal for that matter!)

This is one of Corbin in the pumpkin patch, which was not much of a pumpkin patch any more.  It has been gone through so much over the past month that their weren't many left when we got there.

And here's my man riding on a pony, which is also loved!!  So sweet.

So that was part of our big weekend!!

Standard answers..

Lately Corbin has been a sponge with words.  It is really cute and I love watching him learn new things.   We have been working on letters, numbers and colors, and he is somewhat getting it.  However he has standard answers to everything I ask him!  If I say "What color is that Corbin", his response is ALWAYS "blue".  If I ask him to show me something red, yellow, green, or blue, he can show me, but he will simply answer "blue" no matter how many times I ask!  The same goes with numbers.  If I say "How many cars is on that page?"  he will say "Eight!".  I don't know why eight... It's weird, you'd think he would have heard me say, one, two, or three the most since that is where we always start, but NO, he is set on eight!  But when we are in music class and he is asked to go get 2 bells or 1 bell or whatever, he always gets the right amount.  Crazy boy.  And yes, he also has a standard answer to letters.  Well, for letters I should say he has standard letters.  He will either tell me "A", "M", or "O".  Why those letters?  I HAVE NO IDEA!  He simply has standard answers that he says with everything!!  He is silly.  Often times I tell him "no, that is green", and he will laugh.  He thinks this whole educational thing is funny.  I can't help but laugh because he is so darn cute that I can't help it!

Okay, that was a really long paragraph.  We have a pretty laid back day today, and I'm looking forward to it.  Yesterday was a busy day, and Corbin didn't have the best of days at music class.  He just did not want to sit and participate very well, which was the first week that we have had a big problem.  Usually all the boys run around a little but when I get him for an activity he will participate for a little while, but yesterday he didn't want to be structured at all.  That makes for a hard day for mommy.  Today we have toddler time for a little while... I am thinking next semester we will do something a little more active for him.  I am thinking either soccer (their is a thing called soccer tots) or tumbling.  We will see.  Both are more expensive than music, but I think he would have a little more fun.  We'll see.

Well, that's it for now. Gotta get the little man ready for the day! =)

Blue Skies!

This Friday, Clynt, Corbin and I loaded up and went to the beach to spend some time with Clynt's Dad and Step-mom.  I was such a BEAUTIFUL weekend to be at the beach.  We spent Friday night their, and hung out most of Saturday also.  When we got up on Saturday morning, we had breakfast and then took our little man down to feed the birds.  He has loads of fun.  I just love watching all of his gorgeous smiles.   I just love it.  So it was such a wonderful and gorgeous time to be at the beach.

This morning we got up and went to church, and helped out volunteering with a project that the church is doing in a couple of weekends.  We had fun getting to visit with everyone.  Ever since our church campus opened a new location, it has more of a "big church" feel (which is still totally cool), but we were there since day one and had made so many friends and would spend hours visiting every Sunday.  Now that the church is bigger (and reaching soooo many more people, which is incredible), we dont get to spend near as much time just visiting with those people who had become family.  So today was a treat and we really enjoyed ourselves =).

Then we came home.  And something has come over Clynt the past few days and he wants to be waiting on my hand and foot and he is just really trying to be this wonderful and amazing husband (not that he wasn't before, but the newlywed thing has definitely worn off =)), so he pushed me out of the house to go get a pedicure.  So, now I am home from my pedicure, which was awesome and so very much needed.  I never take the time to do things for myself anymore, and when I say never, I mean NEVER.  I am with Corbin 24/7.  I LOVE that little guy and I don't complain about that, but once a month, I would love just an hour to me and maybe another hour for me and Clynt together =)... That will be our next goal, a DATE!!

Now, we are going to get ready to head to my parent's house, and then we will be headed to our CARE group study..  Sounds like a good afternoon to me.  We are definitely blessed by all the people around us!!

Hopefully I'll post new pictures tomorrow.  We'll see!

Life is so good

Life has been going great lately.  I am still waiting on some of my test results to come in based on findings from my colonoscopy, but for some reason I have a sense of blissfulness.  I have been in prayer and I know that God will only give me what I can handle.

Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Corbin-
Corbin is talking a whole lot more every single day.  it amazes me some of the words he knows.  I wouldn't change being at home with him for the world.  I LOVE watching him every single day learning.  He can now put up to three words together, his favorite is "Thank you, momma", or "daddy", or "meme", or whoever.  He has really gotten better at his manners.    The potty training thing is going okay.  Since he won't be 2 for a few more months, I am not forcing anything, it is all about when he wants to go.  Yesterday he said "poopoo daddy" and so Clynt took him to the toilet and he went.  yAh!  The other day, he took his pants and diaper off and ran into the bathroom and help up the "big boy" (our) toilet seat, but he couldnt reach to put it all the way up so he just stoof there holding it, and he started peeing.  This would be excellent, although, Corbin is much shorter than the "big boy" toilet so he pee'd all of the bottom of the toilet and the floor.  But Im still happy that he was going to the toilet.  He wants to be EXACTLY like his daddy.  It is soo sweet to watch.  I just love it!

So, I have started getting into Christmas shopping.  I am trying to get it all done early so that we don't have all this shopping to do last minute.  Plus being that Corbin's birthday party and everything will be in December, I want to be able to focus on that and not Christmas shopping.  Christmas shopping would be pretty simple, BUT did we ever mention that we have 9 nieces and a nephew to shop for, plus a step-niece and nephew also.  That is ALOT of kids!  Plus then we have my family.  So, it is a lot of shopping and a LOT of money too.  The more I spread it out, the better we are. =)

I also wanted to say that I was boo hooing yesterday while watching the miners all get returned safely to their families.  What a HUGE blessing.  God is SOOOOO good!!

Christmas is near!

I don't believe we are only 2.5 months until Christmas.  It is crazy!!  It didn't really seem so close until I got a request from my Sister in Law to design her Christmas Cards.  They turned out really cute.  See them for yourself:
I am excited to have all the software this year to be able to do custom Christmas cards!  If you want some for yourself, let me know!  You can find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/PictureMeChic .  Also, Christmas pictures are around the corner!  YAH!!

Ok, so this is not an advertisement, but I am really excited about doing all this stuff and constantly learning details and how to do them.

The idea of Christmas being around the corner is crazy!  That mean's my little man will be 2 and we will be hitting our third anniversary!  So much excitement!!

What a week!

Sorry it has been a whole week since I have posted on the blog.  It has been quite a busy one. For starters,  I started experiencing a lot of bleeding, and it continued Tuesday so I went to the GI doctor.  I was informed that I needed to get a colonoscopy.  YUCK!! But that meant that I could not eat AT ALL on Wednesday and I had to drink a GALLON of laxatives along with 4 other pills.  It was a HORRIBLE day.  I had to send Clynt and Corbin over to my parents house to eat dinner because at that point I was starving and smelling food would have about killed me! So my test was Thursday morning.  I had to be sedated and then when I woke up, it was over.  They did find several things that they biopsied.  He didn't seem too concerned but he just wasn't sure what it was and what was causing it (by it, I mean all these red streaks and spots and stuff).  So now, it is just a waiting game.  I am having to wait until later this week.  I have to schedule an appointment and go in and sit down with the results.  So please say a prayer that everything is okay.

Then Thursday night we had already planned to go spend a couple of days with Clynt's momma and step-dad.  We had a good weekend and it was SUCH a beautiful weekend and we were able to just hang out outside the whole time and relax.  Corbin ran around chasing cats, the dog, the horses, and so on.  He also knows how to turn on the 4-wheeler (which is NOT a good thing!).  But he is just an outside guy and had a blast just running and running!!! HE was very worn out by the time we left.  We did have a great weekend and we came back on Saturday night.

We went to church on Sunday morning and then went to HEB.  I always regret when we leave the grocery store having brought Clynt.  I can spend HALF the amount if I don't have him there.  Not to mention the amount of baking I have to do the next week because he picks stuff up and says, you have to make me a cheesecake, or a pie, or cookies, or whatever!  So, then we end up with sweets all over the house for the next week.  So I had 2 projects when we left.  1 was an ice cream pie (which is a really easy one!), so that is already done.  And later this week is a pomegranate cheesecake, which I knew was coming.  Every year when the fall hits, so does the pomegranate cheesecake.  It is a treat I make every year.

So now, today is relaxation day.   And then the rest of the week is pretty busy.  We are going to try out a MOPS group on Thursday, which I think will be nice!

Talk to you soon =)
