Entertaining a 2 Year old....

Entertaining a 2 years is much more work that entertaining a baby.   Everything must be more educational, more detailed, more involved, and shorter to keep their attention span.  I am always looking for new ideas for keeping my little guy entertained.  We color everyday and play with tools everyday because those are the 2 favorite things of his right at the moment.  We read daily also, and he really enjoys that.   He has a Tag Jr. that he loves because he can press and read the books on his own.  He really likes that.  It is really a cool invention for toddlers.  Other than home activities, we are very active outside the home.  We go on play dates a couple times of week, which Corbin really loves.  We go to Story Time in at least once a week also, which Corbin is finally really into.  Other than these things, we are always looking for way to have fun.  In a few weeks, we are going with some of Corbin's friends to Sesame Street Live!  Corbin is really excited to see ELMO!  We are really excited about, however I am amazing at the cost to do kid things!  We wanted decent seats in order for the kids to see well enough to enjoy it, so for seats in the front (not even on the ground level), we spend $70!!  Now, I am not a cheap person, and so don't mind spending that for Corbin, however, I was just blown away!  I mean it's ELMO, not Bon Jovi!  Needless to say, Im sure we will have fun!

So, what other activities do you do to entertain your toddlers??!  I want to put him in tumbling, but just haven't yet and picking a day to fit in our schedules is hard.  I want to start sports and stuff but he must be at least 3 or 4 to join any sports.  So, any ideas are totally welcome!!  Corbin is very much a little boy, he loves balls, tools, instruments, jumping off stuff, running around crazy, and just having fun!

Thanks for the help!

  1. Eli LOVES Little Gym. It's super fun and not too bad expense wise if you divide the cost by the days. It works out to about $16 a class.

  2. my kids had fun with Gymboree and Gymboree Music. They had flexible times and it was easy to take Hunter once he came along. I don't know if there is still one in Pearland, we went to the on Nasa Road. We also spent alot of time at parks with other kids. Once a week or so, we would go "somewhere", like the zoo, the Children's Museum, Natural Science...budget permitting of course. It gets harder towing a baby along, but it was good to get out of the house. Enjoy it, it doesn't last long!
